Divine Mercy Image MISSION STATEMENT

Our mission is to proclaim, through radio, the Good News of Jesus Christ, and to communicate His truths, as found in Sacred Scripture and Tradition, and in the magisterial teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.

PURPOSE

Our purpose in bringing Catholic radio to this part of Florida is to carry out Jesus’ command to “Proclaim the Good News to all creation”, and to answer the appeal of our former Holy Father for a “new evangelization”, including extensive use of the electronic media.

We are also responding to the U.S. Catholic Bishops’ 1993 Evangelization Plan and Strategy, in which their first goal is, “To bring about in all Catholics such an enthusiasm for their faith that, in living their faith in Jesus, they freely share it with others”. To develop such enthusiasm there must be readily accessible resources to facilitate growth in Catholics’ knowledge and love of their faith.

Divine Mercy Radio commenced broadcasting on Divine Mercy Sunday 2008, bringing the message of the love and mercy of God to people of all faiths and no faith, the reality of Jesus' presence to those seeking meaning in their lives, and the promises of Jesus to those oppressed by sin, guilt, anxieties and addictions.

PROSPECTIVE AUDIENCES

* Serious Catholics, who may want to learn more about their faith, but do not have time to read Catholic books or periodicals

* Inactive and semi-active Catholics, who may continue to have some interest in the Catholic faith and in the activities of the Catholic Church world-wide

* Non-Catholics, who may not have an active interest in the Church, but who might tune in to a Catholic station to learn from an “official” source about Catholic beliefs and practices

* The sick and shut-ins, who may have no other opportunity to participate in the Mass or other devotions

* Non-believers, who might just happen across the station and hear something which speaks especially to them
